Windber Sports Complex
The Windber Sports Complex offers top-notch outdoor and indoor facilities available for rent, perfect for various sports events, practices, and tournaments. Below are the details regarding our rental policies and requirements. To inquire about availability, contact Mr. Mark Ott at 814-467-2338.
Outdoor Fields Rental
Rate: $75 per hour
Minimum Rental: 2 hours
Indoor Field Rental
Rate: $200 per hour
Minimum Rental: 2 hours
Administrative fee: $20 per hour
Rental Requirements
Windber Sports Complex
Proof of Insurance: All parties renting the facilities must provide a current Certificate of Insurance listing the Windber Area School District as an additional insured. This certificate must be submitted before any activities can begin.
Responsibility for Damages: The renting party is fully responsible for any damages that occur during their use of the facilities. Any repairs or replacements required due to damages, defacement, or theft of district property or equipment will be the responsibility of the renting party.
District Compliance: Renters must adhere to all district rules and policies, including those specific to the sports complex. Any extraordinary services required due to inadequate supervision or improper conduct will be billed to the renting party.
Facility Guidelines
Footwear: No steel cleats or muddy street shoes are allowed inside the complex.
Live Hitting: Limited live hitting is allowed on the playing field under the following conditions:
All hitters must use mats.
Fielders must be placed in the outfield to prevent balls from hitting heaters or windows.
Live hitting on the field must be conducted within the designated turtle cage.
Sliding is only permitted on provided sliding mats.
Batting Cages: Hitting inside the batting cages is allowed without the use of pitching machines.
Pitching: All softball pitching must be done on the provided pitching mats. Pitching directly on the bare turf is prohibited.
Food and Drink: The facility is a "water-only" environment. No seeds, food, soda, sports drinks, gum, or tobacco are allowed in the turf areas, including dugouts, batting cages, bleachers, or the field of play.
Additional Costs
Miscellaneous Expenses: The renting party is responsible for any additional costs incurred during their event, including but not limited to additional security, overtime labor, production set-up, damage repairs, and lost key costs. These will be included in the final invoice.
Insurance and Indemnification
Insurance Coverage: The renting party must provide insurance coverage for their participants, coaches, and observers. The Windber Area School District is not responsible for providing insurance coverage for any individual associated with the renting party.
Indemnification: The renting party will fully indemnify the Windber Area School District from any liability resulting from accidents or injuries that occur to their participants, coaches, or observers while on the property.
